Customer or tech support for AT&T?

I just have zero patience with her sometimes. My grandmother is just like my sister, just 50 years older, and the vast majority of the time the light just isn't on, if you know what I mean. Same with my sister. I actually wonder sometimes how either one of them manages to gather enough brain cells to walk and talk at the same time. If you've ever seen my sister attempt to walk in heels, you'd wonder, too.

What's even more frustrating is that the only thing the woman knows how to do is talk on the phone. If that's all you do all day, shouldn't you know how to do it well AND know how to work the instrument you do it with? I'm not asking her to build a space shuttle or perform brain surgery. I'm just asking her to listen when I say redial does not mean dial the number that called you.

Oh, and guess what my grandmother's natural hair color is? Take a wild guess.

Here's a hint. It's the color they make all the jokes about. Explains a lot.

I don't work for AT&T, but I do work in a call center.

I figure, if you're on the phone all day, then yeah you should know how to do it well:) So, I've gotta agree with you on that one....

See, I'd probably get fired from being a CS rep because after the 10th call like that, I'd just lose it & go off on the person. I know I've called CS before and asked dumb things, but I always start out saying, "I know this is probably a dumb question, but..." That way, the person knows outright that I'm not that dumb; I just have a dumb question. In my grandmother's case, she doesn't know it; she just is. I swear it's like talking to a brick wall sometimes, only I think the brick wall might listen better.

I must say that I laughed quite a bit as I read the exchange between you and your grandmother:) Of course, it probably wasn't funny at the time...probably frustrating as hell lol....

I can't say I have the similar exchanges with my family members, but I go through this at least 10 times a day; Monday to Friday......
