They&#39;re $350 a year. They added an extra $50 this year to pay for the management company. I think my dues cover having the grass cut around the pool and I guess chlorine for a pool I never use. I can guarantee you that I could cut that little bit of grass for a lot less than $300 times all the houses in the subdivision. As for chlorine, it&#39;s like $5 a jug. Again, it doesn&#39;t justify the amount. I&#39;d love to see an accounting as to where that money is actually going.<br /><br />Heck, I was late on my dues this year. They added highway robbery interest. When I paid them in full, they turned around and sent me a bill for more interest, another $15 for the two weeks that passed between the bill and my money order. It&#39;s ridiculous.<br /><br />I had the fighters as well. Search for &quot;Boxer Boy&quot; on this blog, and you&#39;ll know what I mean. His girlfriend would kick him out in the middle of the night in just his underwear. My ND neighbors block me in all the time, too, because they have 8 or more people and 4 to 6 cars there all the time (1300 square feet). I&#39;m a firm believer in you shouldn&#39;t have more cars than house.<br /><br />No drums so far, but I did here what sounded like someone playing the trombone outside last week. Oh, goody for me. It&#39;s always when I want to take a nap, too. :(<br /><br />Trust me, next house will NOT be in HOA-controlled subdivision. What do they cover exactly? I remember one townhouse we were looking at had a HOA price tag of $550 per month. I was like, &quot;holy..sh**!&quot;. <br /><br />Oh and that neighbor of yours with their trash at the curbside 24/7, now that is just plain laziness there. Well, I have neighbors from hell too. One that blocks our driveway excessively (we had their car towed twice), another one probably has a young son in a band because he keeps playing his drum, and another across the street...don&#39;t know what&#39;s up with them but we&#39;ve seen fights and heard screams.Rose Bellenoreply@blogger.com
