Well, at least the dog is cute! My hubby is laughing at me because I am getting all our pics and video's together, you can tell when the kids were born....there were tons of pictures and video's of the cats....now you only see them if a kid is in the picture.

Thanks! I know 17 is truly ancient, like 119 in dog years or something. She didn't have much teeth left by then, but we (i.e. me) ended up hand feeding her soft dog food so I guess it didn't matter, and she'd get confused about indoor/outdoor behavior (sleep outside, pee inside), but she really wasn't suffering until she had her first stroke. She recovered from it, but the second one got her. Still 17 years is a pretty good run.

My cocker spaniel has a heart condition so I can only hope she makes it somewhere near that.

I know we had a bunch of cat pics somewhere. I think they're just the ones my sister made my mom develop when she was a kid because the cats disappeared (we think our next door neighbor, a real cat hater, took them off because 4 or 5 cats in the neighborhood disappeared at the same time) or got hit by cars and she wanted them for the memories.

It's funny. Once you get pets, it seems to be their house, their holidays, their birthdays, etc., but you love them so much you don't care or don't notice until 20 years down the road.

Thank you, she was. She was my first fur-baby. I called her the Spoiled One above, but I'm probably the one who made her that way so I can't complain. We got her when she was around 2 so we had her 15 years. My nephew used to call her PeePee, which was appropriate at the time because she was getting old and incontinent. She was so rotten I used to say and still do that, if reincarnation exists, I want to come back as a spoiled rotten dog like her.

Me either! After my parents' divorce, my mom promised us a dog once we ever got a house. I think we got Prissy a few months after we got the house. My sister still says I corrupted her, made her mine because I held her on the way home from the pet store (back then we didn't know about pet mills), but maybe she just liked me more. IDK, but she was "mine" until I went to college. By the time I was through with college and law school, she was going senile, but she was still my baby. I wouldn't get a new dog until she was gone because I felt like I was betraying her.

Now that I have my two, I know there's no turning back. I wouldn't mind having cats again, but I don't think my current dogs will ever let me have one, if they way they behave towards cats at the vet is any indication.

Prissy just acted like the cats didn't exist so long as they didn't knock her off her throne.

I think the chair was a hand-me-down from my grandparents after my parents got divorced. My mom had a lousy attorney so she didn't much in the divorce other than us. The chair didn't look that bad then, but after a few years with kids, hamsters, two dogs, and several cats, it was a mess. It may have been ugly, but it was super comfortable. She thought about getting it recovered, but after calling around she found out it was cheaper to buy a new chair. I think she ended up giving it away a yard sale.

I really don't mind Prissy being in all the pics. She was the family dog when she was good, but when she was bad she was my dog. I just wonder if there were more non-Prissy pics, but for whatever reason--irony, fate, you name it--pretty much only the Prissy ones came out. Probably a little bit of both, seeing as my sister has 4 dogs, if you include my mom's other dog in that count, and I have 2. I would have more if I could, but my HOA only lets you have 2.

One day, if I ever have human kids, they'll probably blog about the same thing.

Oh, what a great story. Too funny! (Though I'm sorry Prissy always seemed to be the focus of the pictures.) That chair! I was going to say I was sorry you were unable to develop the oldest rolls of film, but I'm guessing it would have been more Prissy pictures.

Thanks. I think me and my sister took a good portion of them, too, so we can't just blame her. It seemed like the only pics that didn't have Prissy in them were ones that were taken in places where dogs weren't allowed, like my high school graduation or this science fair trip I went on.
