What Were They Thinking?

First is ABC. What on earth were they thinking casting Kate Gosselin on Dancing with the Stars?

She's not a star. She's just some woman with tacky blond extensions and too many kids who spent years emotionally abusing her husband on national TV. If bad hair and a bus load of children is all you need to be a "star," then put Octomom or Michelle Duggar on the show. I would take them over Kate I'm-broke-but-I-can-afford-to-build-a-dance-studio-in-my-basement Gosselin any day.

Second is Kara DioGuardi. What was she thinking with that hair last night?

It just annoyed me for some reason. Maybe it was all the hairspray. Maybe it was because the hair made her look dated. I don't know. What I do know is that between the hair, the overnight tan, the neck-itude as The View called her neck tick this morning, and her Paula-like antics with Simon, Kara is starting to wear out her welcome on American Idol. Maybe next season's judges should just be Ellen, Randy, and whoever Simon's replacement will be.

Third is Lost. What were they thinking with last week's preview? I could have sworn the previews said that questions would be answered this week. I didn't see or hear any questions answered last night other than, "Is Sayid happy is the alternate universe?" Based on the other castaways' alternate lives, I could have already guessed that the answer to that question is no. Thanks a lot for clearing nothing up, ABC.

Fourth is whoever decided tonight's TV lineup. What were they thinking putting Idol, Criminal Minds, and SVU on at the same time? I'm going to have to set both the DVD-R and the VCR, unless one of those shows is posted online. I can't even remember the last time I used the VCR, which is just more proof that I need a job so I can upgrade to Charter DVR.

Fifth is Bella. What was she thinking in these pics from a few weeks ago?

My guess is yum.
