Icees, an 80's Flashback, & Team 90210: Random Tuesday Thoughts

randomtuesday

Why does my popup blocker do nothing about the survey popups that I encounter on almost every non-blog website? And why does almost every non-blog website want you to fill out said survey? Do they not understand that people are scared of filling those things out because of telemarketers and the risk that their email addresses will be sold to spammers? Do they not get that the popups are annoying? If you want me to fill out a survey, ask me when I start to leave a site, not when I first visit it.

Speaking of leaving a site, you know what else is annoying? When you go to a site, try to leave it, and a virtual agent pops up trying to get you to buy something. You try to click out of the window again, and you get another popup asking you to confirm that you want to leave without speaking to the agent. Those things make me want to flip off my computer screen, as if the agents are real and can see me. Oh how I wish...

I think something happens to a person once they reach a certain age that keeps them from enjoying icees the same way they did as a kid. I used to be able to drink icee after icee. Now a white cherry icee from Quiktrip makes me sick to my stomach, gives me the chills, and has me running for the bathroom every five minutes. I wish I had known that I am now icee-intolerant before I paid $1.27 for one an hour ago.

I'm not going to entirely blame the icee for the nausea. I think I'm either getting a sinus infection or Bella's bronchial infection, assuming the latter is contagious. My chest feels very congested today, and let's just say things are showing up neon green. Yuck.

Tomorrow if it's not raining, I am going to have to force myself to cut back all the weeds in the front and backyard. April showers may bring May flowers, but March showers just bring weeds.

I got so excited yesterday when Bella howled for me downstairs. She hasn't howled in a week. Yes, I know that means my life is truly sad, but what else is new?

I had to wash dishes last night in the half bathroom off the kitchen because the sink was so full of dishes I could barely get to the faucet. I have to learn to wash dishes sooner before I'm forced to wash them in the toilet next time.

I was only half paying attention to Lost last week so I need to rewatch the episode today so I can hopefully understand tonight's episode. I also want to watch to the Rags to Riches movie on YouTube, now that I know someone posted it there. I have been looking for it and for the Rags to Riches series on DVD for a long time now, but apparently no one is interested in selling it in a set. Thank god for YouTube. I might want to hurry, too, before YouTube yanks it for some kind of copyright violation.

In case you don't remember the short-lived Rags to Riches, here is a video of the theme song to refresh your memory:

I'm going to have that song stuck in my head the rest of the day.

Is there anyway to buy a chicken already boiled? You can buy them fried. You can buy them rotisserie-roasted and baked. You can probably even buy them stuffed, so why not boiled? I'm sick of boiling chicken. Seriously freakin' sick.

I don't watch the new 90210, but I have seen enough of the previews to know Rumer Willis looks a little more like Demi Moore than she used to. However, last night I watched Sorority Row, and I swear Rumer looked just like Bruce Willis with a red wig and boobs. Not that there is anything wrong with that. I look like my father, too. It just gives me an idea of what Bruce would look like with hair.

Speaking of 90210, I saw an interview with Shannon Doherty last night on Lopez Tonight. She was telling George Lopez about how she was doing Dancing with the Stars because her father was a big fan and it was the only way she could get him out of his hospital bed after his 10th stroke. She basically told him if he would work on learning to say a new word each day and try to take 5 steps down the hall, she would agree to do the show. She seemed so genuine about it and was tearing up so much when she talked about her dad, I almost forgot all the tabloid stories that have been written about her since her days on the original 90210. Heck, for a minute there it was like I was watching Brenda Walsh.

Then George asked Shannon about Kate Gosselin and all the rumors that Kate is already acting like a diva on set. Shannon didn't say anything about Kate really other than she had not met her yet and that she had heard that Kate had told people that her only competition was that chick from the Pussycat Dolls and one of the other female contestants (can't remember which one right now). Shannon said something along the lines of, "But what about me?"

So for the father reason and for the Kate reason, I'm going to be Team Shannon this season or at least until Kate gets the boot from the show. I hope Shannon kicks Kate's over-processed, reality has been ass. If you hear someone chanting, "Let Donna Martin graduate! Then let Brenda Walsh destroy Kate!" on premiere night, just know that it's me. Feel free to join along.
