Never try to install a commenting system when you're half asleep. Last night I was going to install Intense Debate on this blog. However, I realized after searching the Internet for an hour that I should probably email my template to Echo and let them remove the commenting system instead of attempting to do it myself. I then set about adding Intense Debate to Blogging Bella Designs, the site I have yet to finish, and Disqus to my fan fiction site. I thought all was well until I woke up this morning and saw that I had comments from Intense Debate on Just Bloggled.
Turns out I had put the widget on Just Bloggled the first time around. That's why I couldn't find the widget when I went to Blogging Bella and had to reinstall. Having two commenting systems running at once probably isn't the best idea ever so I removed the widget from Just Bloggled just a few minutes ago. As a result, two comments were lost, one from Chatterbox and one from Awakened Voice. I appreciate both of your comments, and I'm sorry they got lost in the mistake. I'll see if I can figure out how to cut and paste them from the notification email and into Echo.
Meanwhile, I'm still waiting on Intense Debate to tell me why I can't get a comment count on Blogging Bella. I spoke to another blogger last night who had installed ID on her Blogger blog. She said that the only way to get a comment count on new posts under ID was to hide all my old comments. I'm hoping she's wrong because I definitely don't want to hide all my old comments. If ID ends up telling me the same, I guess I'll stop worrying about CommentLuv, go with Disqus, or just stay with Echo and cough up the yearly fee. Stay tuned, and again I'm sorry about the disappearing comments. Next time I'll make sure to have a good night's sleep before messing around with my template and layout.
