A Little Blog Housekeeping & Top Droppers

Hey, everyone! I have decided to start a new meme/weekly blog post topic called Flat Ass Fridays. If you haven't read today's entry, which explains what it is all about, scroll two posts down or click on this image and it will take you there:

I am also thinking of doing a Dumb Brunette Moment of the Week or something like that on Saturdays. I already have my topic picked out for tomorrow so check back to see what the dumbest thing was that I did this week.

If I ever get to it this weekend, I may be uninstalling Echo, my current commenting system, and installing Intense Debate. Andy Bailey, the guy behind CommentLuv, will be disabling the CommentLuv plugin for Echo any day now. He decided to disable it and develop a new plugin for Intense Debate because the developers of Echo (formerly JS-Kit) are now charging people to use their commenting system. For the time being, I am still using the free version of Echo. I thought that meant that I was grandfathered in or something, but according to everything that I have read on Get Satisfaction, I wasn't. Sooner or later, I will be expected to pay for Echo, and quite frankly I don't know that I like it enough to pay $14 a year for it or whatever the current rate is.

I think or I hope anyway that Intense Debate will be a little more user friendly than Echo. The only thing that is holding me up on switching is I installed JS-Kit/Echo a long time ago, back when you had to import your template to do so. Therefore, uninstalling it is not as simple as just removing a widget. I have to go through the entire template and remove all incidents of Echo and then somehow revert back to Blogger comments before installing Intense Debate. Sounds like fun, right? It gets even better because I have heard horror stories of people who have lost all of their comments after removing Echo and of people who have watched as all comments are altered to look as though they came from them, not the blog readers.

Regardless of how much fun I think it's going to be, I'm going to have to do it sooner or later if I want to continue using CommentLuv. It may happen this weekend; it may not. I just wanted to let you know in case you came by, tried to leave a comment, and things went or looked a little nuts.

Not that anyone probably cares, but I also removed the MyBlogLog visitor widget from my right sidebar. It was no longer logging visitors so I thought it was best to remove it. If the kinks ever get worked out, I may put it back later.

Now on to Top Entrecard Droppers. I forgot to post them at the end of November. I'm sorry for that, but Thanksgiving with my family fried my brain. I'm just now able to think like a normal person. Since I didn't take a screenshot of the top droppers on December 1, I can only tell you who are the top droppers for the last 30 days. Here they are:

Hugz Before You Go

CAP News

Cute as a Buggy

The Way I See It

The Junk Drawer

Freaky Frugalite

New York Traveler.net

Tips & Treasures

Mrs. Mecomber's Scrapbook

Mama ASID's Entrepod

Thanks to all visitors for stopping by, Entrecard members and non-Entrecard members alike. Also thanks to all who have joined my blog via Google Friend Connect. I have finally reached and even passed 100 members, which is a momentous number for me. I can still remember what it was like to just have two members and ten visitors a day, and I'm pretty sure nine of those visitors were my mom. I'll try to continue writing stuff you want to read.
