Late last week, I wrote a post about how impressed I was that Charter Communication's technical support was now on Twitter. All it took was for me to mention problems and Charter together in one tweet, and I had a representative from Charter offering to help me solve those problems literally a minute later. Like I said in that post, I rarely get that quick of a response time when I call Charter's 1-800 number, and that's when I'm intentionally seeking out help. Last week, I had not even asked for help yet, and it still magically appeared at my doorstep or at least in my Twitter inbox. In case you're a Charter customer and missed those Twitter addresses here they are again, plus a new one I just learned: @UMatter2Charter, @UMatter2Chtr, and @CharterCom.
This week I have more good news as far as Charter is concerned; they're sponsoring yet another great giveaway. This time it is the HD TV-a-Day Sweepstakes. Throughout the month of April, Charter is giving away one 22-inch Samsung HD TV per day. It's also giving away one grand prize package, which includes a 52-inch Sony Bravia HD TV, a home theater system, and 12 months of Charter digital cable with the HD tier. If you live in an area of the country serviced by Charter Communications, you're eligible to enter, even if you're already a customer. All you have to do is go to Charter.com and sign up. There is no purchase necessary. However, all new customers who order a Charter service online this month, plus any current customer upgrading their service, will be entered automatically.
I just got through signing up for the sweepstakes. I would love a HD TV, 22-inch, 52-inch, or otherwise. I can't help but drool at them every time I go into Walmart, Target, or Best Buy, and I always wonder just how different my viewing experience would be if I had one. Just last Thursday during the ER retrospective, I was wondering if I'd get to see the other half of the actors' faces if I had a TV with flat screen dimensions. They were actually cut off on my old school TV. The same thing happened to the credits when the series finale started. I could only see half of the names. Shows used to compensate for the difference in dimensions by running the final product in letterbox. They don't seem to do that anymore. They just cater to the HD world, and I'm still stuck in some parallel, chunky TV dimension.
Obviously, I didn't win last year's coveted giveaway, the Civic Hybrid. If I had, you have heard me blogging about my win far and wide. Who knows? Since Charter is giving away more TV's than they did cars, maybe I have a shot this time around.
