I meant to post this information earlier in the week, but I got sidetracked and forgot to do so. For those of you who use Claritin D 12 on a regular basis, Alavert D 12, which contains the same ingredients as Claritin, is on sale this week at Rite Aid. Normally, the 12 count box sells for $9.99 at this drugstore. However, this week the price has been sliced in half to $4.99. If you print the $1 off coupon from Alavert.com, you can get it for just $3.99. My box came with two $3 off coupons so, assuming you haven't met your legal limit yet for pseudophedrine purchases, you can go back and get a second box for $1.99. The same size box of Claritin usually goes for $14.99 or so.Just don't expect the RiteAid pharmacist or salesperson to know that it's on sale. The sale was listed on RiteAid's online circular but was omitted from the printed circular carried by the store. You'll have to ask the pharamacist to scan the box to make sure it's on sale in your zip code as well. My pharmacist didn't even know what an online circular was. I guess the RiteAid manager left that part out of her sales training because, when I explained to her that the store's online circular listed it for sale on Page 2, she asked me, "Do you mean the sales paper that comes in the Sunday paper?"
I had to tell her, "Yes, but it's different this time from the one in the paper."
I still don't think she quite got the concept, as she then responded, "Oh, so it's a secret sale."
I mumbled, "Yeah, I guess." I didn't feel like arguing, especially not with that ear pain. I was just glad it rang up at the sale price.
Anyway, if you're almost out of your decongestant, you're not going to get a better price than that, not if you want loratadine as well. I know that a lot of stores carry generic Claritin D, but 9 times out of 10, it's the 24 hour version. The 24 hour version knocks me out. It may, despite the nondrowsy logo on the front of the box, knock some of you out, too. I think that I'm going to go back tomorrow and get another box at the $1.99 price before it goes off sale, assuming that I feel like fighting the race weekend traffic. I hate race weekend. I really do, but I hate stopped up sinuses even more.
