Guitar Hero: Not For the Small-Handed or the Fumble-Fingered

My nephew has let me try his new Guitar Hero a few times over the past week, and I've come to the following conclusion. If you have small hands or short fingers, you are pretty much going to suck at the game. For some reason, the pointy finger and middle finger on my left hand fit the green and red buttons on the guitar just fine. Consequently, unless I blink, look at my fingers, or otherwise get distracted, I can hit most of the red and green notes on the screen. However, my ring finger just doesn't want to reach the center of the yellow button. It keeps sliding off, which in turn leads to my rocker chic getting booed off the stage. Chandler assures me that his hands are smaller and yet he's able to do it, but I think that his ability to unlock song after song has more to do with youth than the size of his fingers.

Since there are two other buttons on that part of the guitar--orange and some other color that I can't remember at the moment--I would assume that those notes come up should you ever venture beyond the easy setting. I'm not quite ready to do that yet. Nevertheless, small-handed, fumble-fingered, or not, the game is rather addicting, as is the Wii in general. I'm finding that I'm much better at it than I am at the Xbox. Of course, the better I get, the less my nephew wants to play against me because I've actually beat him a few times now. That only happened once in a blue moon on the Xbox. I even beat him at boxing and baseball, two sports that he thought he had in the bag.

I have a feeling that when I go home later in the week, I might actually go through Wii withdrawal. If that happens, I may just have to ask for one for my birthday, even if what I really need is more RAM for my computer. I wonder if I can get longer fingers as well.
