Charter Communications is doing it again. Last month, if you were in a Charter service area like Atlanta, you could register to win a Honda Civic Hybrid in Charter's Go Green, Save Green Sweepstakes. This month, just in time for the holiday season, you can register to win an Xbox 360 through Charter Communications Xbox Sweepstakes. Every day between now and December 15, Charter is giving away one Xbox 360 prize package. The package includes an Xbox 360 Pro Console, a wireless controller, an Xbox live headset, a high-definition audio-video cable, and a 20GB detachable hard drive. While you don't have to sign up for Charter services to register for the sweepstakes, I highly recommend that you do, as Charter's services will make your gaming experiences with the Xbox 360 just that much better. For instance, unlike your standard Xbox console, the Xbox 360 allows you to play multiple players online through its Xbox Live service. In order to take advantage of this feature, you will have to hook your Xbox 360 up to your home Internet service, either wirelessly with a router or directly to your DSL or cable modem. Charter offers three levels of reliable Internet service--5 Mbps, 10 Mbps, and, for the most serious gamers, 16Mbps--as well as cable modem and wireless router rentals and setup to help you achieve the ultimate Xbox Live experience.
In addition, if you own a high definition TV, Charter's high definition TV service will make your cable TV picture every bit as sharp as the high definition games that you are playing on the Xbox 360. In fact, Charter's high definition channels transmit a picture that is six times sharper than the picture on your standard TV set. Local channels that are broadcast in high definition are included with your Charter high definition cable TV subscription at no extra cost. You can also choose to add high definition premium channels like HBO HDTV and Showtime HD to the local line up. Unlike many satellite providers, Charter high definition TV does not require you to sign a long-term contract so you can cancel your high definition TV service at any time. Plus, Charter technicians do all the installation for you. Thus, you won't have to spend hours trying to figure out where to put each wire or cord.
Right now, as part of its Xbox Sweepstakes, Charter is offering special pricing on its Internet, cable, and phone services. For only $99.97 per months for twelve months, you can get all three Charter services bundled together. However, if you're happy with your current phone service and just want to sign up for cable and Internet service, you can do so for just $74.98 per month for six months. Finally, if you just need reliable, affordable Internet service to go along with that Xbox 360, Charter has a plan for you as well. It's high speed Internet service is only $24.99 per month for six months. Are you not sure which service you want? Charter will let you try any service risk-free for 30 days and automatically enter you into the sweepstakes just for trying it.
If you're in an area of the U.S. serviced by Charter, consider making the switch to Charter Communications or signing up for additional services during the Xbox Sweepstakes promotion. I've been signed up for all three Charter services for some time now, and I'm now registered for the Xbox giveaway. While my nephew wants a Nintendo Wii for Christmas, I doubt that he would pass up a free Xbox 360 should I win one. If he does, then I'll finally have a game console that I can use to brush up on my own video gaming skills. As it stands now, my fingers just aren't quick enough to keep up with an eight year old, but given some time and practice, I might one day beat him at Crash Bandicoot.
