It looks like my mom and nephew are going to have to postpone their weekend visit by another week. My mom is still sick. Every time I talk to her, she breaks into fits of coughing. I don't think that she has made it more than a couple of minutes without coughing in the last two weeks. The last thing that she needs to do is get on the interstate, start coughing uncontrollably, and crash into the back of a semi. I keep telling her that she needs to drink some honey and lemon hot tea, but unfortunately her Tea Collection consists of only one type of tea--Lipton iced tea--which is made southern style with lots and lots of sugar. I'm not sure if sweet tea is what the doctor ordered for coughing, fever, and a sore throat.I know that, even if my mom was fit to drive on the interstate, I would catch whatever she has. Even if she is no longer contagious, I'm sure my nephew is. He's neither coughing nor running a fever, but yet he seems to be a carrier for all things buggy. My mom made the mistake of telling him that he's like Typhoid Mary so now my nephew tells anyone he meets that he's Typhoid Chandler. I'm sure that nickname is evoking a lot of strange looks, but that's okay. Chandler likes the attention.
Regardless, I don't want to get sick. I've been feeling half-sick for months now. I don't want to be full-blown ill. Thus, my family has to stay away until they are no longer contagious. Meanwhile, the birds and the tree in my back yard get another week's reprieve, and I might finally have time to work on my fan fic update.
