While my creative juices were still flowing, I thought that I would move on from writing fan fics to trying to design my own background for this blog just one more time. If you haven't read my previous post on the subject, my first attempt at blog design was a total failure. I didn't know what I was doing on Paint.net. I stayed up until 2 a.m. the night that I downloaded it trying to create a new background. However, the only thing that I managed to create was a kink in my neck and bags under my eyes. As a result, I ended up using a premade background from the Cutest Blog on the Block along with a custom-made header instead of "Backgrounds by Staci."Well, as it turns out, the artist in me just hasn't been happy using someone else's design. Now don't get me wrong. I love all of the designs on the Cutest Blog on the Block, and I am very grateful that the site offers them for free. I just wanted something of my own, something that I could be proud of and that preferably didn't have an unmovable advertisement at the top of the screen. I also wanted something a little less bright. I love bright colors. I really do. I have so many bright colors in my house that I actually refer to it as the house that Crayola threw up in, yet the colors on the predone background were just a little too bright. After awhile, they made my head hurt, and I think they were competing with the posts' text and pictures.
Consequently, I spent this afternoon making what will hopefully be my last attempt at background design. The background is still colorful, but it's nowhere near as hard on the eyes. You won't need to wear sunglasses to read my posts anymore, which I'm sure some of you will be very happy about. The text also stands out better now that it is on a lighter colored background. Except for the placement of the Adsense banner--it is no longer centered when I use the longest leaderboard--I'm finally satisfied with the look of my blog...I think.
If anyone knows how to move the Adsense banner over just a hair, please leave a comment and let me know. It's going to irritate the mess out of me until I figure it out.
