My mother had talked about coming either this weekend or next for a visit, and I had talked about cutting down the scrappy pine tree in my backyard if she did. As I have said before, my real estate agents, past and present, say it's a negative selling point. Of course, if you ask me, I say the tree really is a moot point at the moment, seeing as no one has seen the house in months. Regardless, I don't think I can cut it down now. When I took the trash out today, I noticed that there was a barrage of bird poo on the garden swing that sits under the pine tree. I looked up and found that there was a bird nest immediately above the black and white, stinky onslaught of feces. Now I'm all for doing what I can to sell this house, but I'm not about to kill a bunch of baby birds just to get a few more people in here. I can't hear or see the birds at the moment, but, based on the sheer amount of bird manure, I would assume that they are there or on their way. If I remove the nest, the mama bird won't come back, and then I'm stuck bottle feeding baby birds. Can you even do bottle feed birds? I remember what it was like to bottle feed Bella every three hours. It wasn't fun, and I can say without a doubt that I don't have the energy to do the same for a nest full of birds. If you can't bottle feed birds, then what am I supposed to do, dig up some worms, chew them up, and then regurgitate them into the birds' mouths? Yeah, that is so not going to happen. I think that regurgitation could possibly turn me off meat all together. Thus, until the little ones fly the nest, the tree stays, end of story.
