10-Day Sell-a-thon, Please Be My Lucky Charm

Speaking of homes, Coldwell Banker's 10 Day Sale's Event officially started yesterday. To take part in it, I had to lower the price of my house by two percent. My house is now listed at a price that is only a few hundred dollars more than I paid for it nearly five years ago. That fact irritates me immensely, considering that I always thought that houses were supposed to appreciate, not depreciate, in value. If I have to lower the price anymore, I'll be selling it for less than I bought it for. If I had known that the economy was going to take this kind of turn and make our houses pretty much worthless, I would have kept on renting or bought a double wide. At least you know upfront that trailers go down in value. Plus, I could just move the trailer. I wouldn't be stuck in this one-hick wonder of a town.

So far, my real estate agent hasn't called and said that buyers are knocking down her door to come see my house. Honestly, I didn't expect her to, but considering the amount of cleaning that I have been doing for the last few days and will be continuing to do as soon as I get out of the shower, it would be nice if at least one person would come. No one has come to look at the house in months, and only two potential buyers have looked at it over all. I'm starting to get scared that my only options are going to be to stay here, do a short sale, rent it, or just let the bank take it. I'm not too fond of any of those options at the moment.
